Frédéric Jean Kochman, M.D

Dr. Kochman is based at the Clinique Fontan of the General Hospital and University of Lille, France. He received his medical degree from the University of Lille, where he also undertook further training in psychiatry. In 1995 he became chief resident at the University and General Hospital, Lille, in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
On the research front, Dr Kochman is currently in charge of a unit which is dedicated to the study of early onset bipolar disorders. He is completing a PhD in this area, focusing on risk factors (such as temperament) which may predict mood disorders in children and adolescents. His other clinical and research interests concern suicide, schizoaffective disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders and chronic fatigue syndrome in children and adolescents. He is the author of a number of publications and some fifty communications to international psychiatric congresses.
Dr. Kochman is currently working in the hospitals of Lille and Roubaix in specialised clinics for young patients with anxiety and mood disorders.
